Our Story

In 2015, Carl DeKoatz, Attorney, and John Carrillo, Office Manager formed DeKoatz Law.  Mr. DeKoatz had left the public sector and decided to be a private attorney.  At the same time, Mr. Carrillo was looking to replace a retiring attorney for whom he worked for some 14 years.  Carl and John had been on an ACTS retreat (2005) together when Carl was in undergrad at UTEP.  The two met for lunch many times over the years and would discuss life, the law, family, school, work, clients, and cases.  Eventually, Carl went to Law School in San Antonio and became a lawyer.  Meanwhile, Angelica Jimenez worked at the bail bond company across the street and would regularly visit the office on clients and cases.  Eventually, the timing was right, and DeKoatz Law came to be.  Since then, Carl, John, and Angie, of DeKoatz Law, fight day in and day out to help empower the people of El Paso and San Antonio, Texas.
